Last year I discovered the vastly creative duo of Aisha Zoe & Rich James, better known as AZ&TOR through a YouTube account believe it or not. The UK based Eton Messy had become a major staple in my daily music listening experience, so when the music video for AZ&TOR‘s ‘Save My Soul‘ shuffled onto the screen, the first 5 seconds showed me that these two would comprise my favorite duo making dance music.
After remixes, free downloads, and stray releases, they’ve finally put together their debut EP entitled ‘Sit Back. Their unique blend of garage house, R&B vocals, and future bass has culminated in this three-track release. Kicking off with the title track ‘Sit Back‘ boasts an extremely down-tempo, deep house tune in which Aisha’s airy vocals are able to gently grace the baseline.
Next up is ‘Feels Like‘ — the most jazz influenced tune from the EP. Aisha’s looped vocals paint the perfect campus for the swirling synths and evil baseline. The sax element in this tune truly kills
Lastly, is ‘Carry Mine‘ which probably boasts the most contemporary dance music sound of any track on the EP. The ethereal synths, lead into a pretty solid written from AZ. All in all, the ‘Sit Back‘ EP is truly a win for everyone: the UK, MadTech, AZ&TOR, and mainly for US — the fans!
Oh and as a bonus I’ve included the music video from ‘Save My Soul‘ which introduced me to the duo, and if you’re not familiar, I’m sure this tune will evoke similar feelings for you. Make sure to pick up ‘Sit Back’ soon via MadTech!
